Due to the worsening pandemic situation in Taiwan and the tight supply of rapid antigen test kits, a lot of Taiwanese and Hongkongers in Taiwan are not able to perform self-test when in need. Taiwan’s health authorities announced that Taiwan residents can now import rapid antigen test kits for individual use without the need to secure a permit in advance until June 30. From May 11 till June 30 2022.

3. WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF TEST KITS TO BE IMPORTED?

Every individual can only import once with a maximum of 100 rapid antigen test kits.

4. WHAT KINDS OF TEST KITS CAN BE IMPORTED?

Regardless of the TFDA EUA status of the rapid antigen test kits, all test kits for personal use ordered by individuals can be imported to Taiwan. However, test results from kits that are not approved by the Taiwan government will not be recognised for Taiwan’s anti-epidemic regulations.

5. HOW CAN I DELIVER RAPID ANTIGEN TEST KITS TO TAIWAN?

In accordance with Taiwan’s regulations, real-name authentication for the consignee of imported express shipment is required:

Importers with household registration in Taiwan shall download and install the “EZ WAY” real-name authentication app (Apple Store Download / Google Play Download), then fill out personal information to complete the authentication process, including the consignee’s Chinese full name, ID number and the bounded mobile number.

Senders from Hong Kong should correctly provide the consignee’s Chinese full name, ID number and the bounded mobile number. You can ship the parcel through Hongkong Post or other international couriers.
